Goal Setting

Setting Goals You Can Achieve

WATCH:

In this video, we will consider why it is useful to set goals for academic and other areas of our lives. We will discuss how to create goals in a way that makes it more likely we will persist and achieve them.

PRACTICE:

  • Use this worksheet to create a long-term academic goal for yourself and then identify 2-3 short-term goals that can help you reach that long-term goal.
  • Evaluate this goal and identify ways that it does or does not meets the criteria for a S.M.A.R.T. Goal. Think about how you might improve it.
  • Create a SMART goal for yourself, along with action steps, solutions to potential barriers, and who you might tell about your plan to reach this goal.
